It's like you're a drug It's like you're a demon I can't face down It's like I'm stuck As far as Vivian Walker could tell, it may be a little bit on the chilly side here - but there isn't any snow. She considered that to be a bit of a good thing, she can somewhat deal with the cold. Vivian's a California girl, born and raised, so she isn't a big fan of snow at all. She has seen snow before, though, when she was sent to go live with her grandparents in Washington. It wasn't some sort of punishment or anything, her father was merely looking out for his only daughter's safety and she was grateful for that. She needed to leave, pretty badly, so she didn't care about the snow. As long as he couldn't get to her, then Viv was happy to go to her grandparents' house and 'visit' for a while. She, of course had to come back to testify at the trial and she did come back. He needed to be put behind bars for what he did, and Vivian had helped put him there. It has been a couple of years since, and it still haunts her somewhat. She even lives in fear (a bit) about what might happen if he ever gets out of there. She gently bit her lip, as she pushed the thought out of her head and started to head off the ship. It's like I'm running from you all the time And I know I let you have all the power It's like the only company I seek is misery all around Vivian needed to get away for a while, she has been feeling a bit depressed lately and she needs to clear her head. Her father did like the idea of her getting away, so he helped pay. Vivian's black messenger bag was slung over one of her shoulders and her red suitcase followed closely behind her - rolling on wheels. She took a deep breath, thanking the crew as she passed. Some gave her a nod, while others talked back. The sound of her boots clicking a bit, as she made it down to the dock. Then, a crisp breeze slowly blew past Vivian and it ruffled her hair a little. Her hair was down, free to fly in the breeze if it wanted. Her earrings started to sway in the breeze a bit, nearly getting caught in her hair. She came to a halt, halfway down the dock, and then she slightly turned back to wave. A few waved back, as they prepared to depart from the port. A half-smile played at her lips, as she turned back. She started walking again, only making it a few steps, before the heel of one of her boots got caught in between the boards of the dock. "Just perfect.." Viv muttered to herself, setting her suitcase upright and tried to pull out her boot out. It wouldn't really budge. She let out a frustrated sigh, as Viv stopped for a moment to push hair out of her face. She then tried to pull it out with both hands, with all the strength that she could muster. Success! The heel of her boot was free, but Vivian wasn't expecting a bit of a kickback. She was knocked off-balance a little bit and she stumbled back a bit, nearly falling off the edge. Vivian caught herself, luckily enough, and she let out a sigh. That was a close call.., she mused to herself. She retrieved her suitcase, then merged back into the crowd of arriving people.

Kevin watched over the edge of the ship as it slowly made it's way to the dock. This island was going to be his home for the next... well he wasn't sure how long this was going to be his home. He was hoping for maybe a permanent stay, but didn't know how that was going to effect his career, but he would soon find out. He turned away from the scene of island and headed back to where his room was on the ship and gathered his things. Buy the time he had everything that he needed the ship was docked and people were heading off. He walked out of his room and into the traffic of people and followed the crowd off the ship. Once off he dropped a his bags to his side and reached for the camera that was around his neck. That was one thing about Kevin that was predictable. He almost always had his camera with him. Kevin wasn't like most press. He didn't want to catch the famous people doing something wrong. He just wanted to catch the realness of their life. He wanted to catch everyone's life.
Kevin grabbed for his camera and pointed it up toward the island and snapped a photo of the land around him. He then turned around and caught a picture of the boat and all the happy and stunned faces as the people walked off the ship. He smiled turned back around and took another photo. After this photo he looked down at what he had just taken and laughed a bit. He had caught a picture of a girl who had gotten her heal stuck. When he looked up to find this girl he smiled as she was trying to get her shoe unstuck. He smiled and didn't understand when women wore shoes like that when they weren't going somewhere... well somewhere fancy. He shock his head and laughed to himself as he picked up his bags and made his way toward her. As he was heading toward her, he watched her struggle and did feel a bit sorry for her, but she finally got her shoe loose.
Kevin slowly caught up to her and just walked beside her with the crowd. He looked over at her. "I guess heals weren't the best chose for today." giving her a small smile. As he kept walking. He had no idea who she was, but that was Kevin. He talked to almost anyone if something gave him a reason to. He thought that the universe gave him enough signs. Well one big sign. The fact that he had taken a picture of her with her heal stuck with out even meaning to. So he had to talk to her. "Seeing that you have a suitcase, I assume that your new. You staying long, or just visiting for a while." He asked as he ran a hand through his sandy blond hair and then shoved it his pocket has his duffel was thrown over his shoulder and he really didn't know what to do with his other hand. Kevin heard a few people beside him but didn't pay much attention to them as he was looking up at the sight that was coming to view. He looked up satisfied, and knew that he was going to enjoy his life on this island a lot.

It's like you're a drug It's like you're a demon I can't face down It's like I'm stuck The sound of her boots still clicked, as she walked. She mentally kicked herself for wearing those stupid things..today of all days. And of course, with her luck, she got one of her heels stuck. She could feel her cheeks heat up a little, a flush spreading, knowing very well that she probably embarrassed herself. Vivian then bit her lower lip. At least one person saw her lack of grace and had a little laugh, she knew it. That would be just her luck, if it was a cute guy that noticed it. Out of the corner of her eye, she looked around at the other arrivals. Some carried an overnight bag and others had a bit more luggage to carry. So, some were staying a few days and others planned for a longer stay here. A half-smile danced upon her lips, she was one of the ones who were maybe thinking of a longer stay. Vivian inhaled slow and deep. Then, the sound of the voice interrupted her train of thought and she turned her head. "I guess heals weren't the best chose for today." The faint flush spreading on both her cheeks began to turn a darker shade. She knew it, damn her luck. She looked over at the man walking beside her and bit her lip. He's cute, she thought to herself. "Oh...you saw that?" she said, somewhat knowing the answer already. Vivian saw the camera hanging from the man's neck, and gave herself a little mental kick again. If he took a picture of that.., Vivian mused to herself and then pushed the thought out of her head. No need to assume, maybe he didn't get the chance. What if he did?, her inner voice whispered. Vivian nearly gasped, suppressing the voice and trying to think about it. "Seeing that you have a suitcase, I assume that your new. You staying long, or just visiting for a while." She then managed to give the man a little shrug of her shoulders, her head tilted a tiny bit to one side. "Is it that obvious?" Vivian answered sarcastically, with a little chuckle. A knot started to take form in her stomach, her nerves kicking in a bit. A moment came and went, as they walked. "I'm not really sure yet, the jury's still out on that one." Vivian added, noticing before as he ran a hand through his hair. He had blonde hair and she considered that a plus. Another silence fell in between them, walking side by side. Vivian thought for a moment, then spoke. "My name's Vivian, by the way...and you are?" she said, running a hand through her dark curls and cracked a little smile.
